So long for now ...

It's at about this time where I take a hiatus from my garden blog. The garden is nearly put to bed although there are some things that look as good now as they did back in July (especially the geraniums). North Dakota got its first taste of snow last night (thankfully on the western side of the state) so I know it's gotta be coming our way soon. Ugh ....

With the end of fall comes the beginning of our son's senior hockey season that we have been looking forward to a lot. Coupled with the girls' activities - it will be a busy five months. These are all good things - just very exhausting! I am also preparing myself for gallbladder surgery next week. The sooner the better as I've been quite miserable for some time .... it's no fun not being able to enjoy all the food I like to eat!

I have met lots of very cool people this year - it's been a treat. I hope to stop by your blogs throughout the winter and see what you are up to. Thanks to all who have been faithful readers - you make it all worthwhile. We'll connect again after the new year.

Best wishes,

Beth

Well I am saddened that you will be on hiatus for the next few months but can certainly understand.

That's exciting your son plays hockey. I have never seen a game played. Isn't that terrible?

Hope all goes well with your surgery. Sounds like now is a good time to have that done.

Best wishes and I will look forward to hearing from you when you are online again!

Its been great to read your blog - I myself have slowed down on garden news this fall. Heard about the snow...it's coming. Apparently the deer hunters will have a time in the western side of the state with new snow.

I wish you the best in the cold season ahead. Surviving a N. Dak. winter can be a challenge at times...I know. :-)
Praying your surgery will go well and you will be feeling better again.

Hey Beth: Hi from Johnnny and Kit. We wish you all the best and a speedy recovery. If it's a good idea to do something, it's an even better idea to do it sooner rather than later. Good job getting your gall bladder situation taken care of, so you're ready for gardening next spring. FYI: Kit was a snapdragon, and I was a daisy! More soon, Johnnny

May peace be with you and your family through the winter months. And may God watch over you through your surgery and give you a quick recovery.

Susie, Marnie, Chris, Connie, Johnny & Kit and TC - thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement. I had my surgery yesteray and the doc said everything went well. I am VERY sore and groggy. All things to be expected.
Maybe in next week I can continue with cleanup in the garden - it's hard to stay away!
Again, many thanks.

Beth, thanks for much for giving us the update. Glad to hear your surgery went well. The garden can wait, you need to take care and get yourself healed.

It's good that your surgery went well. I hope the recovery period goes well too. Your garden must be ready for winter now. Perhaps you'll have a chance to post some winter shots in between games.

Beth, I'm glad to hear your surgery went well and hope you're feeling much better by now. We were socked with our first winter snow storm on Tuesday and Wednesday. I hope it missed you! It seems much too early to see this much snow on the ground.
I hope you'll find time to show us what ND looks like during the winter months. Meanwhile, we'll miss you, and look forward to seeing and hearing about your garden in the spring.
Look after yourself and don't overdo!

Beth-I was so glad to see your entry for the giveaway. I see your name on my blog list and wonder how you have been doing.

I'm sure your garden is asleep for the winter. We had a frost last night and I told my husband just this a.m. it looks like the garden has gone to sleep.

It won't be long until I'm thru at the nursery for the winter. I don't work Jan or Feb. I think I will probably do some more home projects during that time.

Take care and stay warm. Look forward to hearing from you again.

Hey Beth, thanks for stopping by for a visit.

Get out that snow gear and take some photos. I'll bet it's lovely out there;)

Beth I was so glad to see a comment from you. I have been wondering how you are. I cannot believe 45 below zero. Oh my goodness! I really just can't fathom that!

I hope you stay warm and study up on those wonderful catalogs. I hope those brighten your days a bit.

Hi Beth: I wanted to see if you'd added another post to your blog which would be a sign of Spring. I guess we still have to make it through American Idol, now that we've narrowed it down to a mere thirty six remaining contestants. Johnnny
